New York, New York

Last night my leg was hurting and New York seemed far away.  But I knew I came all this way and was not willing to quit.  After Dr. Ryan gave me a tune up, I was ready to run and make it to NY.  I ran through the night and all day today.  I crossed into New Jersey this morning, ran across the Brooklyn Bridge into New York this evening.  Although we would like to celebrate tonight, I am too tired to party.  The celebration will just have to wait till tomorrow. Off to bed now…looking forward to sleeping in tomorrow and it will be a shock that I will not have to run any further.  Good night!

Rain, Rain, Go Away

Pennsylvania.  I thought I had left the hills behind, only to find that Pennsylvania had more hills for me to climb. The rain continued all night as well through today, but that has not stopped me. After a long night of running I rested in the RV for the afternoon and the doctor helped heal my leg from an injury of something hitting my leg from a passing car. After packing the car with drinks and fruit for me along the way I am off to finish Pennsylvania. I am only about 150miles to New York City and the sun has finally come out inspiring me to run faster to finish my journey!

Another Day on the Road

I came into Youngstown, OH early this morning after running through the night.  I was excited to enter another state, Pennsylvania.  I know I have a long day ahead and the finish line is so close. I can’t wait to be New York!

Close Call Slows Me Down

I was running into the night on Highway 20.  A truck was speeding down the highway towards me.  I tried to avoid getting hit and ended up re-injuring my ankle.  So, I had to call it a short night.  After getting a good night’s rest, my ankle was feeling much better with the doctor’s magic hands.  I should be passing Sandusky, OH around lunch time and I will keep on going.  I’m trying to really focus and get as many miles under my feet as I can.  I’m trying to avoid any distractions and pushing forward.

South Bend, IN

I left Chicago, IL yesterday morning (5am) and ran through the night until today (5am).  Made 100+ miles to make it in time for my morning show interview with CBS in Mishawaka, IN.  Then, I headed to the South Bend Chocalate Cafe where I had a delicious breakfast with local fans and crew.  Soon after I was on my way to the College Football Hall of Fame where I was greeted by media & more supporters.  Finally, the local police escorted me out of town towards Elkhart, IN and then off towards NYC.  Although my ankle is not completely healed, I am still keeping strong and I will make it!  Remember that all of your support keeps me going, so I encourage everyone to join the cause and donate…”every cent counts” Donate at www.runwithreza.org

Thank you South Bend for your warm welcomes!

Overcoming Obstacles

My ankle seems to be doing better today. After having my ankle iced and a good hearty breakfast, I am now off to Mishawaka, IN. I have an exciting day planned for tomorrow. Which includes a morning news interview, meeting the mayor, having breakfast at the local chocolate factory, a private tour of the Notre Dame Football Hall of Fame, and finishing with a police escort out of town. If anyone in the area is interested, feel free to come and join me!

Obstacles on the Road

Came in to Dr. Ryan Novak’s office late last night to treat my ankle, after falling into a pot hole while running. Shortly after, I was treated to a great dinner at Leona’s Restaurant. Then I was off to bed to rest up for Saturday’s event.

Early start today to get ready for the day’s events at Palos Park. I was excited to have made it this far, with only a couple hundred miles to go. I was in the Palos Park Parade. I meet wonderful people, who were interested in meeting me and cheering me on. I signed autographs and ran with kids at the park. I had a great day at the Palos Park Parade.

I appreciate everyone’s encouragement and support here in Chicago.

Companions on the Road Makes Me Strong

3am and was on my to pick up my two new buddies, who would accompany me on my journey to Chicago.  The two young gentlemen joining me on my run to Chicago are from Palmer College of Chiropractic. They stayed strong throughout the day, running a few miles at a time.  They gave me the energy and enthusiasm, which allowed me to keep running towards Chicago.  It was a pleasure meeting you all along the road today!  Thank you for showing your support!  Only a few miles to go until I reach tomorrow’s goal.  Come join me at 11am on Saturday, September 19 for the Palos Park Parade! Can’t wait to see you all in Chicago!

Davenport, IA

I left Winterset, IA yesterday and arrived at Davenport today.  I meet with runners, and students from Palmer College of Chiropractic for a run through downtown Davenport.  We continued our run through Davenport on Highway 74 and across the Mississippi River into Illinois. We stopped for a short lunch break and had some delicious donated sandwiches.  After such an eventful day I came back to the RV for a nice nap.  Now I am ready to get a move on!

A special thanks to the Davenport Police Department who kept us safe as we ran up Brady St.  To all the media and press who came out to cover my story and my cause.  And to Dean, Gabe, and Paul for keeping me company as I crossed another state in my journey to New York!

All Night

I had many things to think about, so I ran all night into the morning. I came into the RV this morning to have a big breakfast and a quick relaxing nap. I am on the road again, Highway 92 headed towards Davenport, IA. But, I must make a pit stop in Greenfield, IA to fix the follow car’s flat tire. Very nice! Very nice!
